EDC Conductor
This Timely EDC Conductor Bag is inspired by Japanese Craftsmanship, and largely from the Seiko watch corporation as an Homage to not only Seiko, but to the Japanese people. Here is the story behind the bag.
In the turn of the century, The Seiko Watch Corporation broke out of the mold that was set for them by other countries producing watches and selling to their country. They had a dream and a vision to produce watches that their people could use. Seikosha did this in November of 1929 on a large scale by supplying the Pocketwatch to The Japanese National Railway — during the fall when beautiful Japanese maple and Ginkgo leaves were floating to the earth and covering the streets.
This happened to be such a momentous and important event in not only travel but also honoring the Japanese spirit of punctuality.
It was told that after the railway received the Seiko pocketwatch, they were always on time. If the JNR ever made anyone late for work, they would write a hand written apology note to the employer of the worker who was late.
— As told of the Japanese National Railway, 1929I very much respect the Japanese culture of craftsmanship and work ethic. This bag can only aspire to honor the legacy of the Japanese People.

Both Sides Equally Significant
The bag is double sided. Each face carries a real Japanese train — one from the age of Seikosha, one from living memory.
On one side hosts the JGR C51 Steam locomotive — the engine that would have carried the goods and services of the time when Seiko gave the JNR the pocketwatch.
The other face carries the JNR EC 457 — a train that ran long enough for an entire generation to grow up watching it pass. To those who knew it, it is not just a train. It is a feeling.
Japanese maple and Ginkgo leaves laser etched across the entire outside of the bag — each one oriented differently. No two the same.
Natural Leather. Pure Silver. Made by Hand.
Full grain natural vegetable tanned leather, fully lined with natural sheepskin hide. Dyed with a traditional Japanese onion skin dye. Five troy ounces of handmade pure silver hardware — forged, filed, soldered, and polished by hand.
Fully sheepskin lined throughout — every pocket. Royal blue Ritza Tiger thread & goldenrod — hand saddle stitched. Line 24 & line 20 snaps — nickel and antique nickel.
Built to Last. Built to Work.
A pocketwatch on a bag sounds romantic — and it is. But romance without function is just decoration.
The 1929 Seikosha Type 19 — Japan's first domestically certified railroad watch — was not selected for a number on a spec sheet. It was selected because it was the most accurate and reliable instrument available for the purpose it needed to serve. No numerical accuracy rating was published for that model. It was certified by a standard of fitness: could it be trusted? Would it hold? Would the trains run on time? They did.
The movement chosen for this bag is the Seiko NH34 GMT. Its manufacturer tolerance runs -20 to +40 seconds per day — and in real-world use, most units perform within +10 to +30 seconds per day out of the box. It is not a chronometer. It was not chosen to be one. It was chosen by the same standard as the Type 19: is it accurate enough to be trusted? Is it durable enough to be carried? Is it honest enough to belong here? Yes, yes, and yes. It is a workhorse mechanical movement — water resistant, fully serviceable, and built to run for decades without complaint.
The case is a high-spec Panerai-inspired SKX007 mod — double domed sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel, square lugs chosen to complement the bag's proportions. The case, crystal, bezel, and components were sourced through Crystaltimes.net — a company that designs and develops components to OEM specifications, produced through long-standing third-party manufacturing relationships with multiple layers of quality control and testing. Cases and bezels are spec'd to improve water resistance beyond original specifications.
This is not a fashion watch. It is a tool watch that happens to live on a one-of-one handmade leather bag — and this one came out right.
The GMT function holds multiple time zones. The watch connects to the bag via 21 inches of hand-forged pure silver chain. When not worn, it lives inside the Timely EDC Conductor Mini Bag — a replica built to the same standard.
